A homeless man in Miami was caught one step behind by police after he reportedly stole a car and then committed a string of violent crimes.

He kidnapped and raped a 14-year-old girl before police could catch up with him.

Around 8:15 a.m., a woman stood outside her apartment in Uptown next to her running car, keys in the ignition. An arrest report says that Akil Cousins, 27, jumped in while walking close and locked the door.

Cousins ran away when she tried to open the locked door. Police in Miami were called and given a full description of him, including what he wore and how he looked. The police said that there were no cameras in the area.

According to the report, an officer was looking into the car theft at 9 a.m. when another officer told him that the woman’s stolen car was involved in a hit-and-run accident about eight minutes away, just two blocks from loanDepot Park.

The officer went to the new crime scene and talked to witnesses. They told him that the car had crashed into a fire hydrant and that a guy who looked like Cousins got out and ran away.

The report says that a 14-year-old girl was sitting on a bench near the stadium around the same time that police were looking into the hit-and-run. The girl was about a 10-minute walk from the scene of the crash, on Northwest 14th Avenue and Seventh Street.

She later told police that she had been kicked out of her house the night before. The police were told by her parents that it didn’t happen. They say she left because of a fight, which she has done before but always comes back.

The report said that cousins walked up to the girl, grabbed her hand, and led her across the street to a parking lot. After that, they were able to get into the lobby of an apartment building.

He raped her while they were waiting for it to arrive. The report says that he continued to rape her after they got into the lift.

As they got off the elevator on the sixth floor, they helped a woman carry her groceries into her apartment. The girl told the woman in a whisper to call the cops, but the woman didn’t.

Around 9:30 a.m., police were called to the area of Northwest 13th Avenue and Seventh Street to look into a possible child kidnapping. This was just down the street from where Cousins and the girl were staying in an apartment.

Again, cops were told that the person who did it was a man who looked like Cousins. The story said that police searched the area but found Cousins already gone.

The young girl was raped again as they left the apartment building. Then, she and her cousins walked to the Iglesia Camino De Fe, a close church. Someone told him to leave, and someone inside called the police.

At 10:50 a.m., cops were told that a man who looked a lot like Cousins was exposing himself at 850 NW 13th Court, which is a few streets away from the church. When the police arrived, they found Cousins and arrested him.

Detectives say Cousins admits taking the 14-year-old girl and raping her. Later, while being questioned by the Miami Police Department, he bragged about the rape, and soon after, he was caught doing inappropriate acts.
