Became IAS officer at the age of 22, had passed UPSC in first attempt

UPSC is one of the toughest examinations in the country, to clear which candidates have to work day and night. While many candidates have to appear in this examination more than once to pass it, there are some candidates who crack this examination in the very first attempt. Today we are going to talk about one such girl, who passed the UPSC exam in the first attempt and became an IAS officer at the age of just 22. Let us know about IAS Chandrajyoti Singh.

IAS Chandrajyoti Singh is the daughter of a retired army officer. Father was in the Army, so his schooling was done in many states. Let us tell you, his father was working as an army radiologist, while his mother was a lieutenant colonel.

Chandrajyoti’s parents always inspired her to do good in life. Due to the discipline of her parents, she was very good in studies from the beginning. He had 95.4% marks in class 12th. After passing class 12th, he took a History Honors degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Let us tell you that after completing his graduation degree, he took a break of one year so that he could prepare for UPSC.

She knew that the path to UPSC was not easy, but not impossible either. Starting his preparation, he first paid special attention to current affairs and general knowledge. Initially she used to study for 6 to 8 hours. As the exams approached, he started studying for 10 hours a day. Along with this, he also took test series to strengthen his preparation and also paid full attention to his revision.

Let us tell you, Chandrajyoti was only 22 years old when she appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time and secured 28th position in All India Rank.

Chandrajyoti Singh did his officer training in Mussoorie from August 2020 to October 2022. Then for four months she remained posted as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. In October 2022, she joined the Government of Punjab as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Sultanpur Lodhi.
