‘Curiosity’ is ending the ghost of mathematics and science

IIT Gandhinagar’s ‘Curiosity’ program is eliminating the fear of mathematics and science from the minds of school students. Girl students are being engaged with mathematics and science through interesting toys, activities, stories and assignments. The students are availing the benefits of this program twice a week on Tuesday and Friday.

To make girl students proficient in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, IIT Gandhinagar has designed ‘Curiosity Program for Teaching Science in an Experimental Way’. Under this, 100 modules have been prepared. Girl students are associated with this program twice a week on Tuesday and Friday. During this time, girls are able to understand science in an experiential way through interesting toys, activities, stories and assignments.

This program is being run in all 746 primary schools of the state. The Zoom link of the sessions taking place each week is sent to the schools through WhatsApp. A maximum of 300 schools can join the Zoom link. The remaining schools can participate in the session through YouTube. Schools also get information about the material to be used in the session through WhatsApp. Quizzes are also organized during the session.

State Project Director issued letter

State Project Director Vijay Kiran Anand has also issued a letter in this regard to all Kasturba schools. In which instructions have been given to compulsorily include 100 percent girls in this program. It is mandatory to send weekly reports of the wardens and girls participating in the sessions to the State Project Office. Strict action has been proposed against the wardens and district coordinators of girls education of those schools which will not participate.
