Summer has come. Many parts of India are currently facing scorching heat. Where the temperature is crossing 40 degrees Celsius. In view of the increasing heat, many state governments are preparing for changes in school timings and summer holidays. Along with this, many states have closed schools and also changed their timings. Here today we are going to tell you about those states which have changed the school timings.
Jharkhand
Due to the scorching heat affecting the entire state, the Jharkhand government has decided to change the school timings from April 22 till the next update. According to a government official, school timings for students from kindergarten to class 8 will be from 7 am to 11:30 am. Whereas classes for students from classes 9 to 12 will continue till afternoon. Let us tell you, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has already issued a heat wave warning for 15 districts from April 20 to 22, due to which the temperature will go above 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.
Odisha
In view of the scorching heat, the Odisha government has announced that summer vacations will be started in all government schools from April 25. Apart from this, they have decided that schools will remain open from 6:30 am to 10:30 am from April 22 to 24.
On 20 April, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that temperatures exceeded 43 degrees Celsius at 10 locations across India. The highest temperature recorded on Saturday was 45.2 degrees Celsius in Baripada, Odisha.
Patna, Bihar
Due to the heat in Bihar, Patna district administration has changed the timings of schools from Saturday. The Meteorological Department on Saturday confirmed the scorching heat in the state and said that at least 11 places in the state have recorded temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius. The timings for class 10th students in government and private schools of Patna have been changed from April 20. As per the new schedule, schools will have to start at 6:30 am and end at 11:30 am. Let us tell you, there has been no change in the school timings for the students of class 11th and 12th.
West Bengal
In response to the ongoing heat wave, the West Bengal government announced last Thursday that summer vacations for government and aided schools will begin ahead of schedule from April 22. The purpose of this decision is to protect the students and staff from the scorching temperatures, so that their health is not harmed.
Maharashtra
To avoid the heat wave, the Maharashtra government has announced early summer vacation for primary, middle and higher secondary schools affiliated to the state board last Thursday. Schools will reopen across the state on June 15, except in Vidarbha district, where schools will resume classes on June 30.
