From the main gate of UPSC to the interview room, know what happens on the day of personality test?

UPSC Interview: The last stage of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the interview i.e. personality test. Candidates who prepare for UPSC to become IAS, IPS, IFS, dream of getting a chance to give UPSC interview after the Prelims and Mains exam. Let us tell you, UPSC interview is conducted at the headquarters of UPSC. Which is situated in New Delhi. Candidates from other cities have to come to New Delhi for interview. In such a situation, let us know what happens after reaching UPSC Dholpur House from entry to the interview room and what formalities are followed during this period.

First of all, let us tell you, UPSC interviews are conducted in two shifts. In which the reporting time is 9:00 am and for the afternoon session it is 1:00 pm. Candidates will be called before the start of the interview round, so that the documents related work is completed before the interview.

On the day of interview when candidates go inside Dholpur House. First of all, checking takes place at the main gate. Where the UPSC interview admit card i.e. e-summon letter is seen. After this the candidate is made to sit in the waiting room. Then whatever documents are submitted in Detailed Application (DAF) 1 and 2 are verified. Here UPSC asks for original certificates from the candidates, copies of which are kept by UPSC.

Once the candidates appear for the interview, they directly walk out of the UPSC Dholpur House, they are not given a chance to come to the waiting room. An interesting thing about the interview is that till the last moment no candidate knows in which board his interview will be held. According to UPSC, a candidate who is interviewed is asked to leave the premises without revealing the name and details to fellow batchmates. In the waiting room, candidates are provided facilities like newspaper, magazines, water, tea etc.

The UPSC Board prepares the panel on the basis of the number of candidates selected for interview. When a candidate is finally called for interview, he comes out of the waiting room and then he is made to sit outside the board panel room. Then a bell rings. After which the candidate has to go inside the interview room and the interview round starts from here.

Let us tell you, currently UPSC interviews have started from January 2, 2024, which will end on February 16, 2024. A total of 1,026 candidates are being included in the interview round.
