IFS officer Himanshu Tyagi shared on X how he prepared for UPSC with a full-time job.
He told, I used to go to job every day and knew that I had to find time to prepare for UPSC. In such a situation, I used to wake up at 3.30 in the morning and study for four hours before leaving for office.
Along with this, during his tenure as an officer, he used to study with the help of mobile in short breaks between work. He had also downloaded study material for UPSC on his mobile phone and computer.
Himanshu also used to use the time of commuting to office. During this time he used to study for UPSC. After office, Tyagi used to study for 30 minutes every day and on weekends he used to study for 10 hours.
The IFS officer said that if you want to clear UPSC then at least one or two years of study is necessary. He wrote, “You cannot waste time when you set yourself difficult goals.”
In a separate tweet, he also talked about the importance of getting enough sleep during preparation. He wrote, continuous study makes a person mentally tired. In such a situation, if you sleep well, it gives new energy to the brain. In such a situation, do not compromise on sleep under any circumstances. Tyagi further said that if someone is preparing for UPSC then it is important to take 6 to 7 hours of sleep.
