New Education Policy 2020: One-year PG course will be started in National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur. The institute has started preparations for this. This course can be conducted under the curriculum framework of one year PG course prepared under the new education policy. In this, only those students who have done four year UG course will be able to do PG in one year. After the curriculum framework of this course was approved by the University Grants Commission, NIT Jamshedpur has also started preparations to implement it. With the start of this course, students will have the opportunity to do PG in one year and their time will be saved. Interestingly, along with the one year PG course, a five-year integrated UG-PG course can also be compiled under the curriculum framework prepared by the UGC.
An NIT official said that after preparing the framework by UGC in this regard, suggestions have been sought from the institutes. As soon as this is implemented, students will get a lot of convenience. The good thing will be that the two-year PG course will also be continued for now. Nothing has been said officially by NIT Jamshedpur regarding this, but NIT Jamshedpur has shared information in this regard on the institute’s official social media platform X. Probably from the next session this one year PG course will be implemented in NIT Jamshedpur under the new education policy.
It is noteworthy that from this year itself, B.Tech studies have been started in NIT Jamshedpur under the new education policy and under this, multiple entry-exit system has been implemented. Now the exit system will be implemented in two-year PG courses also. In two-year PG, students will be given PG Diploma certificate on leaving the course in one year.
