UPSC Story: During preparation for UPSC exam, many candidates become good friends among themselves and many find life partners. Today’s story is about a couple, who are Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, who started civil services preparation together and after some time became life partners.
We are talking about Ghanshyam Meena, currently serving as Municipal Commissioner in Firozabad, UP, who is from the 2015 IAS batch and his wife Anita Yadav, who is currently the Chief Development Officer in Ayodhya, UP, is from the 2017 IAS batch. .
IAS Ghanshyam Meena’s father was an Additional Commissioner. In such a situation, education has always been given great importance by his family. He has seven siblings. Who are working in various fields like medical, engineering and accounting.
Such an environment was created for the children in Ghanshyam Meena’s house, where they were always inspired to move forward in the future. He completed his schooling at Birla Senior Secondary School. After which he took a degree in engineering from BITS Pilani. When he graduated, Ghanshyam had to face the challenges of the global economic recession. Which had an impact on jobs. Due to not getting the job of his choice, he decided to prepare for the Civil Services examination.
Let us tell you, Ghanshyam had earlier filled the Rajasthan PCS form and passed the written examination in the first attempt. After which he was shortlisted for the interview round. To prepare for the interview, he went to Jodhpur where he met Anita Yadav, who was also preparing for the interview. Both of them told each other about themselves here and later both of them decided that they will prepare for UPSC together. After which Ghanshyam came to Delhi to prepare for UPSC.
Let us tell you, Ghanshyam and Anita had passed the Rajasthan PCS examination in the year 2014. Now both of them had a dream to pass the UPSC exam.
Preparing for UPSC exam along with a job was difficult, but Ghanshyam and Anita knew that if they wanted to achieve something, the journey would definitely be difficult, but not impossible.
Ghanshyam Meena was the first to achieve success in UPSC examination. He became an officer of the 2015 IAS batch. Then in the year 2017, Anita passed the UPSC examination. Let us tell you, in the year 2015, Anita had passed the UPSC Mains examination, but she was not selected in the interview. After which Anita decided to appear in the UPSC exam again and secured IAS cadre with 350th rank in the year 2017.
