Ram Mandir inauguration: See the list of states where schools will be closed on January 22

Ram Mandir Inauguration: The historic Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh will be inaugurated on January 22. This is an important date for Indians. In such a situation, the Government of India announced a half-day holiday in its offices to allow “participation in this festival”. According to the government notification, work in the central government office will start from 2.30 pm on Monday. After the notice of the Central Government, many other states have announced holidays in their offices as well as educational institutions. Here is the list of states which have declared January 22 as a holiday. Let us know.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh first declared holiday on 22 January 2024. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the closure of all educational institutions in the states. Let us tell you, liquor shops will also remain closed across the state on January 22.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a holiday in schools on next Monday i.e. 22 January. Like Uttar Pradesh, in Madhya Pradesh too, dry day i.e. liquor and cannabis shops will remain closed. The Chief Minister tweeted, “Keeping in mind the public sentiments, we have decided that January 22 will be a dry day in the state. All types of shops including liquor and cannabis shops will remain closed.

Goa

The Goa state government has declared January 22 as a holiday for government employees as well as schools.

Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh government has declared a holiday on January 22 in all government schools and colleges in the state on the occasion of the inauguration of Ram Temple. Minister Brijmohan Aggarwal has announced a holiday highlighting the importance of the event.

Haryana

Haryana government has announced the closure of schools on 22 January. Apart from this, consumption of alcohol has been banned on the day of the consecration ceremony.

Assam

Assam state government has announced half days for all government offices and educational institutions. Work will start in the office on January 22 at 2:30 pm.

Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government has announced a half-day holiday in the state. Union Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary said that he has sent a request to the Chief Minister for a full day holiday on January 22.

Tripura

The Tripura government has announced that all government offices and educational institutions in the state will remain closed till 2:30 pm on January 22.

Odisha

Odisha government has said, “In view of the celebration of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya, state government officers as well as revenue and magisterial courts (executive) will remain closed for half a day till 2:30 pm on January 22, 2024.”

Gujarat

Gujarat state government offices will also remain closed for half the day.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra government has declared a public holiday on January 22 on the occasion of the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Uttarakhand

All government offices in Uttarakhand will remain closed till 2:30 pm on January 22. Also, all the educational institutions of the state will remain closed.

Puducherry

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Friday announced that January 22 will be a public holiday in the union territory.

Let us tell you, Delhi University announced half-day holiday on Monday for the inauguration of Ram Temple. No official announcement has been made regarding closure of schools in Delhi.
