Today we are going to tell you about three friends who appeared for the UPSC exam together and were successful. Let us know about IPS Saad Mian Khan, IAS Vishal Mishra and IAS Gaurav Vijayram Kumar.
When preparing for an exam, the first thing we usually do is stop meeting friends, but the story of Saad Mian Khan, Vishal Mishra and Gaurav Vijayram Kumar is unique. All three of them used to study together for UPSC.
Let us tell you, among the three friends, Saad Mian has got the highest rank in UPSC. He passed the UPSC exam with 25th rank.
Saad is a resident of Bijnor and had obtained BTech degree along with his friend Vishal from Kanpur. There was a friendship between the two in the year 2007, when both of them met Gaurav Vijayram in Delhi. After which all three of them became close friends.
Saad and Vishal Mishra, after completing their graduation in civil engineering in 2012, decided to appear for the UPSC exam and moved to Delhi to prepare. Where he met Gaurav. All three had started preparing for UPSC Civil Services in Delhi.
Know about Saad Mian
Saad Mian Khan appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time in the year 2013. In which he fails. After this he appeared in UPSC CSE four times and succeeded in his fifth attempt in the year 2017. In which he had secured 25th rank. Despite having such a good rank in UPSC, Saad chose the post of IPS instead of IAS.
These were the marks of Saad Mian
Saad had secured 129 marks in UPSC Mains GS Paper 1. His GS2, GS3 and GS4 marks were 120, 127 and 94 respectively. At that time his optional subject was Geography.
Know about IAS officer Gaurav Vijayram Kumar
Gaurav Vijayram Kumar had passed the UPSC examination in the year 2017. In which he had secured 34th rank. In an interview, when Gaurav Kumar was asked about his preparation, he said, βI used to discuss all the plans, issues and questions with my friends. They helped me a lot in making better strategies.β
Let us tell you, Gaurav had passed the UPSC exam in the fourth attempt. He was not successful in his first three attempts. βIn the initial attempt, I was not well prepared for the mains exam and in the subsequent attempt, I did not get good marks in the General Studies paper,β he said.
Know about IAS officer Vishal Mishra
IAS Vishal Mishra is from Uttarakhand and studied with Saad Mian Khan in Kanpur. He is an engineer by profession and did M.Tech degree from IIT Kanpur and then started preparing for UPSC. In UPSC CSE 2017, he passed the exam with 49th rank. After which he became an IAS officer.
