Why delay in implementation

Now the question is that when our Constitution was ready on 26 November 1949, then why was it implemented with a delay of two months i.e. on 26 January 1950. Why waited so long? The reason for this dates back to the freedom struggle 20 years ago. In fact, on January 26, 1930, Congress had given the slogan of complete independence of the country or complete Swaraj. In memory of this, we waited till 26 January 1950 to implement the Constitution.

On 19 December 1929, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was elected the new President of the Congress in the Lahore session of the Congress. On this day the demand for complete Swaraj was made. It was decided that the country’s Independence Day would be celebrated on the last Sunday of January. This date was 26 January 1930. This demand for complete Swaraj was made public on 26 January 1930. On this day, Pandit Nehru hoisted the tricolor flag on the banks of Ravi river in Lahore. In this way, 26th January was a very special day for which we waited.
